Cayla and Cameron’s story started online in Oklahoma, but their wedding day ended up exactly where Cayla had always pictured it. She always dreamt of having a Colorado Wedding, and that’s exactly what she did!
Since Colorado is home for Cayla, she knew she wanted to get married surrounded by the mountains, and Wild Basin Lodge is pretty much the perfect fit. With the Rocky Mountains all around them, the whole day had that classic Colorado feel. It is relaxing, fun, and completely felt like Cayla and Cameron.
Colorado Wedding Day
The day started with getting ready, hanging out with their favorite people, and all those little moments that somehow end up being some of the best parts of a wedding day. Cayla got ready with hair and makeup by The Day Hair and Makeup before putting on her dress from Legacy Prom and Bridal. Her bridesmaids wore Azazie, while Cameron and the guys cleaned up in suits from Menguin.
Then it was time to get married—with the mountains as the backdrop.
Floral Design of Europe brought the florals together and added the perfect amount of color and texture to the day. And, of course, having Wild Basin Lodge as the setting meant there was no shortage of beautiful places to take photos. From the ceremony to portraits around the property, the Colorado scenery basically did half the decorating.
Kaitlin Rose Photography was there to capture the day, focusing on all the real moments in between—the laughs, the happy tears, the hugs, and everything that made the day theirs. Alisha Brown Photo and Video also captured the day on film, giving Cayla and Cameron another way to relive all those moments long after the wedding was over.
A Reception in the Rocky Mountains
After the ceremony, everyone headed into cocktail hour, where the bride and groom shortly had everyone go over to the amphitheater where they shared their first dance, followed by the other special dances. Prior to the bride and father dance, the bride’s father gave the most heartfelt speech and left everyone in tears. For dinner, a delicious meal was catered by Wild Basin. Then the real party started. Mike Randleman kept everyone on the dance floor, and the night was filled with plenty of dancing, laughing, and celebrating with the people who traveled to Colorado to be there.
And because no wedding is complete without dessert, Cayla and Cameron finished off the night with an ice cream bar from Glacier Homemade Ice Cream in Boulder. Honestly, an ice cream bar at a Colorado mountain wedding is a pretty hard combination to beat. Following the ice cream bar, everyone made their way outside for the most epic bubble exit you could ever of imagined.
From meeting online in Oklahoma to getting married in the Colorado mountains, Cayla and Cameron’s day was a pretty awesome full-circle moment. They got the mountain views Cayla had always wanted, surrounded by their favorite people, and got to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter together.
