Ashley and Chancler’s backyard summer wedding was one of those golden summer days that just felt meant to be. With beautiful weather, the perfect setting, and a whole lot of love, they said “I do” surrounded by their favorite people on Chancler’s parents’ property just outside of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
A Laid-Back Morning with the Best Crew
The morning started off slow and sweet, just the way a wedding day should. Ashley and her girls got ready inside the house, where sunlight poured through the windows and laughter echoed through the rooms. Between getting her makeup done and slipping into her dress, Ashley was surrounded by the women who mean the most to her. You could feel the joy and anticipation building with every passing minute.
Just down the way, the guys were doing things their way—getting ready in the bar on the property. It was a classic groom’s morning: casual, full of jokes, and probably a few beers. Chancler kept things cool and calm, surrounded by his best friends and soaking in the last few hours before seeing his bride.
A Traditional Ceremony Full of Emotion
Ashley and Chancler chose to keep things traditional—no first look. And honestly, it made the moment Ashley walked down the aisle even more powerful. The look on Chancler’s face said it all. There was something so sacred and genuine about that moment, and not a dry eye in sight.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and emotional, full of love, personal touches, and a sense of peace that made everyone pause and soak it in. You could tell how deeply these two love each other—and how supported they are by the people around them.
Olive Garden, Tears, and a Tent Full of Joy
After the ceremony, the celebration kicked off under a big white tent in the backyard. Olive Garden brought the food (breadsticks for days!), and as dinner settled in, the speeches began.
Let’s just say… you might’ve needed a tissue or two. The toasts were filled with love, laughter, and stories that left everyone smiling through tears. Whether it was a childhood memory or a tearjerker about how perfectly Ashley and Chancler fit together, the words shared that night were unforgettable.
The Best Kind of Dance Party
Once the lights dimmed and the music started, the dance floor came to life. From the first dance to the final song of the night, the energy was nonstop. Everyone was out there—barefoot in the grass, twirling under the lights, and making memories that’ll be told for years to come.
It wasn’t just a party. It was a full-on celebration of a love story years in the making.

Before the sun dipped below the horizon, we snuck away for golden hour portraits—and wow, did the sky show up. Soft golden light, the perfect summer breeze, and a couple totally smitten with each other. It was one of those moments where time slowed down and everything felt just right.

Ashley and Chancler’s day was full of everything that matters: love, laughter, family, and a whole lot of dancing. From getting ready in familiar spaces to celebrating under the stars, it was the kind of backyard summer wedding that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
