Word of the Year 2026 | Faith, Motherhood, and Intentional Living
Every year, I choose a word, not as a goal to hustle toward, but as an anchor to return to. Instead of adding pressure, this word offers clarity, and allows me to stay grounded. Over time, choosing a word of the year has become one of the most grounding practices in my life, especially as I balance faith, motherhood, and business.
As I step into 2026, my word is ROOTED.
Not rushed. Not stretched thin. Not chasing what’s next.
Rather, rooted.
This season of life looks different than it used to and because of that, intention matters more than ever. I’m a mom to two little ones, a wife, and a business owner balancing work I deeply care about. While life feels full in the best way, it also requires me to slow down and choose wisely.
That’s exactly why I chose rooted.
Instead of growing fast, I want to grow deep.
For me, rooted means:
Ultimately, I don’t want growth if it costs my peace. I want strong roots—roots that can support everything I’m building.
Staying grounded spiritually in a busy season of life
Before anything else, I am a believer. Because of that, being rooted in faith shapes every other area of my life. Rather than trusting my own timelines, I’m learning to trust God’s.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him.” — Colossians 2:6–7
Some days, that looks like intentional prayer. Other days, it looks like surrender. Either way, I’m choosing to stay planted, even when growth feels slow or unseen.
Motherhood, presence, and building a steady home
At home, rooted means presence. It means leaning into the everyday moments the messy ones, the loud ones, and especially the fleeting ones. Instead of rushing through this season, I want to savor it.
Because of that, I’m choosing to protect our family rhythms. I’m choosing togetherness over busyness and connection over perfection.
More than anything, I want my kids to remember a home that felt steady.
Not perfect.
Just rooted.
Building a values-driven business with intention
In my work, rooted means intention. Instead of saying yes to everything, I’m choosing alignment. Instead of chasing trends, I’m building businesses that support my family and reflect my values.
Practically, rooted business looks like:
As a result, my work feels more sustainable, more meaningful, and more aligned with this season of life.
Throughout this year, I’m returning to one simple question:
Does this help me grow deeper, or does it pull me thinner?
If something pulls me away from my faith, my family, or my peace, then it isn’t aligned. On the other hand, if it strengthens my foundation, I know I’m on the right path.
Because what is rooted will last.
Ultimately, 2026 isn’t about doing more. Instead, it’s about being grounded in what already matters.
This year, I’m choosing to stay rooted in faith, at home, and in purpose. I’m trusting that slow growth, built on strong foundations, is exactly where I’m meant to be.
Here’s to a year of depth, intention, and steady growth
