I’ll be the first to admit that I LOVE a good outdoor wedding. So when Trevor and Meghan inquired with me for their outdoor ceremony at Spruce Hills Event Center in Zumbrota, Minnesota , my heart nearly doubled in size. The love between these two has been something that has been developing and growing for years. Documenting this beautiful chapter in their love story felt like just a full-circle moment, and I couldn’t be more grateful for these people.

There’s something so special about photographing a couple whose your good friends outside of work. My husband, Aaron, used to work with Trevor and through their friendship I had the honor of getting to know Meghan. Through similar interests of hanging around a fire, going to the best local brewery, attending church together on Sundays, and simply going out to dinner- our relationship grew. Being in the presence of a couple who is truly each other’s best friend is exactly why I love what I do so much. Not to mention a couple who is so in LOVE with the Lord (chefs kiss) is honestly the cherry on top. Documenting a wedding day where the focus is on Jesus and their relationship with the Lord- makes me a puddle everytime. But enough of that sappiness – let’s get into their perfect wedding day!

Trevor and Meghan’s love story is simply out of a Nicholas Sparks book. Throughout high school, Meghan and Trevor had the same friend group and were always together. It wasn’t until Trevor was a junior, and Meghan was a senior where things really took off. One night after a football game, Trevor used the ever so romantic social media platform “Snapchat” to send Meghan a snap. Meghan then described the rest as history. Here we are a few years later- where these two are OFFICIALLY married! Now enough of the sappy love story, let’s dive into their intimate outdoor wedding in Zumbrota, Minnesota.

The wedding day began with the gals getting ready at the beautiful Bride’s suite located in the event center. Between laughter and lots of tears, Meghan was surrounded by the most supportive, empowering, and hype crew of ladies. Meghan’s LeAnne’s bridal dress was literally everything. The ethereal lace detailing and long train complimented the romantic, whimsical champagne color palette beautifully. Upon making their arrival to the grooms suite- the groom and groomsmen rocked what we like to call “game day walk in photos”. I absolutely loved the groom’s attire; as Trevor had a slightly different style than the groomsmen. Trevor was dressed in a beige colored suit that was custom fit at Men’s Warehouse. Not to mention the lining of his suit coat was a blue paisley design. The remaining groomsmen rocked the custom fit beige pants and suspenders.

After the bride was finished getting into her dress from LeAnne’s bridal, her father and her shared an intimate first look on the back patio of the event center. Many tears were shed, as the Bride’s father expressed many heartwarming words about their big day finally being here. After supplying many tissues to wipe everyone’s eyes, we made a short walk up the driveway where the bride and groom shared their intimate first look. Following their beautiful first look, we walked behind the bride and groom and met them on a hidden bench where they shared their vows. These vows left everyone in tears as they shared their gratitude for being here, and how with God’s love and help their relationship will keep growing stronger in the future.

The same love that they expressed during their personal vows overflowed into their ceremony where the bride’s cousin officiated the ceremony. With a sand unity and a moment for communion, there was not a dry eye in the crowd. After sealing the deal and walking out of the ceremony as a newly married couple- we went right into the reception space where there was a beautiful charcuterie board waiting for everyone. As the night progressed, many memorable speeches were said and of course another time where there were no dry eyes present. The bride and groom shared their first dance with eachother followed by dances with their father and mother. Shortly after we got back from a short sunset session with a “popping” champagne spray (that may have went all over the groom), we made it back to the dance floor and partied the night away.

The newlyweds closed out the night with an intimate dance with just themselves, as everyone else prepared to master a sparkler send off. As the bride and groom ran out of the venue, they were greeted with a tunnel of sparklers followed by one last champagne spray….and champagne drinking!
